Japanese | English

Aoba-Japan Bilingual Preschool(AJBP)Waseda Campus is one of the sister schools of the Aoba International School Group. Aoba International School group has two schools authorized by the International Baccalaureate (IB) and one candidate bilingual school in Tokyo.
At AJBP Waseda campus, we use inquiry-based learning which International Baccalaureate (IB) advocates as its pedagogical approach to providing a bilingual program.

- Core Skills: Developing age-appropriate skills of the heart, mind, and body.
- Creative Thinking: Being creative and feeling confident about one’s own ideas.
- Self-Expression: Expressing oneself freely in both Japanese and English.

It is very important to build a strong foundation of these three main skills in the early years.
With these skills, we believe that children will find their own dreams and strive to make them come true.

Building the foundation of universal communication skills.

In addition to acquiring a strong foundation of Japanese language skills, children also have the opportunity to communicate with native English-speaking teachers everyday. This helps children to develop life-long language skills. Through language acquisition and activities designed around different cultures and customs, we aim to guide children in developing a wish to become global-minded citizens.

Inquiry-based activities stimulate children’s interests and challenge their minds.

We believe that children learn to take initiative, become inquirers and risk takers and have confidence when they are actively engaged in stimulating and challenging activities. When children work in group, they also obtain communication skills, collaboration, self-regulation, and listening skills. Through these explorations and hands-on experiences, children learn life skills as well as developmental skills to become a well-rounded person.

We provide various types of specialized programs such as gymnastics, karate, swimming, piano and elementary school prep classes. These courses are taught by specialized teachers coming from outside of our school. One of the biggest advantages of having these specialized programs at school is that children have easy access to each program and are able to experience special activities in order to stimulate their full potential.

Safety and security at school

We have installed several security cameras in the building to keep your child safe. We also require all parents and caregivers to wear a security card when entering the building.
We provide home-made healthy and nutritious meals and snacks using domestic products.
On the bus, we have also installed a GPS system in order for parents to see the operation status in real time.
