K5 children went on a field trip to Shinagawa Aquarium as a summary of the current Unit! The students made new discoveries such as finding out the number of their sharp teeth while observing sharks swimming slowly in the aquarium and how the school of sardines swim in swarms and . They also participated in the nickname vote for a newborn baby dolphin! They all had a very enjoyable and meaningful day;)
K4 went to “Edo Tokyo Tatemonoen” to explore the difference between the current and old buildings! At an old farm house, the students had great time experiencing water pumping in a well and making many discoveries such as finding a dry food shop, and noticing that the floors of trains and buses were made of wood rather than flooring. They had a deeper understanding of this unit “Where we are place in time”.
K3 went to Hamura City Animal Park as a summary of the characteristics of animals and how they live. Each child designed, made a favorite animal T-shirt and wore it to the Zoo! On the bus heading to the park, the children are looking at the map of the Zoo and asking each other excitedly “Where shall we go?”. There were various animals in the park and the animals that they had never seen before. The students were so interested to see them and asking what they were. They were especially impressed by the size of giraffes and zebras. On the way back, the children were imitating animal calls and movements ♪
