At Aoba-Japan Bilingual Preschool （AJB）Waseda Campus, we provide an original program focusing on how to prepare children to become 21st-century learners.
At AJB, we aim to create a learning environment that allows children to learn English naturally in the same way that they learn Japanese. When children immerse themselves in both Japanese and English from an early age, they build a strong foundation in order to become global citizens who are able to communicate with people around the world.
At AJBP, in addition to our original daily program we also offer special events such as a Winter Concert, Sports Day, and a variety of seasonal events. These events are carefully planned around children’s interests and concerns. Throughout these experiences, children learn how to share their thoughts and feelings effectively, solve problems, build relationships with their friends, and become cooperative.
Children may encounter conflicts or make mistakes, but they learn through such experiences and acquire important life skills such as communication, compassion, self-reflection, self-regulation, teamwork, and how to take a leadership in a group.
Support for Working Families
We provide an early drop-off (8:00-8:30) and late pick-up service (15:00-18:00) for working families.
We provide a school bus to the following route: Iidabashi, Kudanshita, Kagurazaka, Ichigaya
School policies are as follows:
– The safety of your child is our first priority. We support your child’s growth in a warm and exciting learning environment.
– Through our daily routines, we encourage the growth of child’s mental/physical health, communication, manners and compassion.
We understand that it is hard for working families to put their child in specialized programs outside of school. Even if you were able to do so, the commute might cause you to lose valuable family time.
In order to support working families, we provide various types of specialized programs such as dance, rhythmic class, gymnastics, music and elementary school prep class.
Greetings from our Board Chair, Iwao Shibata
We put the safety and well-being of your child first in every single aspect of our childcare from nutrition to physical and intellectual education.
We provide a world-class curriculum to meet the needs of a quickly globalizing society. We prepare children to be competent in both Japanese and English in order to realize an abundant life and confidently contribute to the betterment of society.

Reiichiro Uno, Board Member
The world that the kindergarteners will experience in the next 80 years of their lives will be vastly different from the world that we adults have known for the past several decades. The world is sure to become a place in which answers are increasingly difficult to find. The tools and skills children will need in order to live happy lives are different from the tools and skills we needed, and each and every child is sure to have his or her unique needs.
How can we best design our school such that each and every unique child can confidently clear a path to his or her dream?
The staff and I continue to ponder this question every day as we interact with the children at JCQ.
